SB 1203: ANOTHER SPECIAL INTEREST SCHEME WITH A HUGE PRICE TAG.

California lawmakers are considering SB 1203, a bill that would raise the cost of hiring security guards in California by an estimated $2 billion. Small businesses would be forced to foot that bill, at a time when they’re already stretched thin.

We’ve seen this play out before: when the state raised fast food wages, restaurants couldn’t just absorb that new cost. They were forced to cut jobs. Now, SB 1203 sets up the same outcome for security guards.

More costs for businesses. Fewer jobs. A blow to public safety.
