CALIFORNIA IS ONE SIGNATURE AWAY FROM PUTTING 350,000 SECURITY GUARDS AT RISK.
SB 1203 has passed the Legislature and is now on Governor Newsom’s desk. He has to decide whether to stand with California’s workers or with special interests.
If he signs it, SB 1203 will add a billion dollars in new costs for industry mandates. Those are costs that put the guards themselves on the line. When businesses get squeezed, it’s the workers who lose jobs and hours. It’s a familiar story out of Sacramento: a bill that ends up hurting the very people it claims to help.
Gov. Newsom: protect the workers who protect us. Veto SB 1203.
