FOLLOWING SB 1203 SIGNING, CALSAGA PLEDGES CONTINUED ADVOCACY FOR CALIFORNIA’S LICENSED SECURITY INDUSTRY

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –   The California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards & Associates (CALSAGA) issued the following statement from President David Chandler after Governor Newsom signed SB 1203.

“Only in California would so-called champions of workers sponsor a bill that hurts the very workers they claim to help. SB 1203 increases security costs by billions of dollars, making essential protection unaffordable for hospitals, malls, grocery stores, and office buildings across California.

“Security professionals deserve support, not more costly barriers to employment. CALSAGA will continue working to build a highly trained, professional, and well-supported security workforce — and we will continue fighting costly mandates that put good jobs at risk for the men and women who protect our hospitals, schools, businesses, and communities,” said David Chandler, President of CALSAGA.
