School Security Session 1
Role and Responsibility of School Security Officer, Security Awareness in the Educational Environment, Disasters and Emergencies
CALSAGA Members will now see the ability to purchase School Security Training Modules by logging into the Member Portal & Training Database and clicking on the Training tab.
If you have officers who do any work on a school campus or office of a school district, don’t wait to begin training your officers. Previously, School Security Training was only required for officers who were working 20 or more hours per week in a school security capacity. SB 390 removes the minimum number of hours and mandates the training for all officers working in a school setting or on school property.
Commencing July 1, 2021 security officers working on the property of a school district, charter school, county office of education, or community college district must complete the School Security Training course regardless of the number of hours worked per week. Click here to read more about SB390.
Courses Included:
Please note that while School Security Training is a 24 hour training course, the training may only count for 8 hours of credit towards initial Security Officer Training or Continuing Education requirements.
